When you are feeling "less than"

Do you ever feel "less than"?

It usually happens when we compare ourselves to others and their opportunities and accomplishments.

Today, I saw a picture of a pastor I admire as he spoke at a university graduation commencement. And I felt "less than".

I felt like the .5 talent guy. I will probably never be invited to speak at a college graduation service.

But tonight, I wil be speaking at a little church - a Gypsy church plant in Western Ukraine, a church planted by CVCers Imre and Clara Laszlo.

And the Lord reminded me, "Where I send you is the #1 assignment for you. You are serving Me, not man. The 2 talent servant who invests well what I give him gets the very same 'Well done' as the 5 talent servant.

"Plus, I love the ones who will invest in  the last and the least - like the marginalized, oppressed, and persecuted Gypsy peoples. Who will go to them?

"Rick, you are Mine. I am just as proud of you as I am of that other pastor.

"Bloom where you are planted and be a source of beauty that glorifies Me in places where very few see. I am just as pleased with a flower in a field as I am with a flower in a palace."
