10 transforming gospel truths about you that enable you to live new

It's been said that we are "stupid, stinking, and stubborn sheep." We are also self-reliant, sinful, and selfish.

When we live apart from Christ, that's the bad news.

The good news is that our Shepherd loves us anyway. And He doesn't see us that way anymore if we are in Christ. We are saved, special, sanctified, surrendered, and selfless sheep if we are in Him.

We don't have to remain "stupid, stinking, and stubborn sheep." Maybe we need to begin to talk to ourselves about ourselves in a new way according to the new life we have in Christ.

If we let the "stupid, stinking, and stubborn sheep" mantra define us, we will, no doubt, live less abundant lives.

John 10 gives us a picture of our Shepherd and of us as His sheep. Jesus is speaking of Himself as our Shepherd.

"The sheep hear his voice, and he calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought out all his own, he goes before them, and the sheep follow him, for they know his voice" (John 10:3-4).

I see 10 truths about us as sheep when we have new life in Christ. I think this needs to be our new narrative about ourselves.

1) Jesus is my Shepherd.
2) I hear His voice.
3) Jesus calls my name.
4) Jesus leads me out.
5) Jesus brings me out.
6) Jesus makes me His own.
7) Jesus goes before me.
8) I follow Him.
9) I know His voice.
10) I find life more abundant (John 10:10).

When you start talking trash to yourself and begin to live less abundantly because of it, repeat this list of 10 truths about yourself.

It might make a big difference in how you live this day.

You just might find yourself having life more abundant.
