The Church Unique Vision co::LAB idea represents a continuous and collaborative (hence the double colon) laboratory to focus on your vision. You and 3 leaders from your church will pray and work together to clarify your vision. To understand why this process is vital, check out the Auxano website. The cost for the co::LAB is $2,000. Some churches have questioned the expense. Let me explain why I think this expense is a worthwhile investment.
1) I agree that the $2,000 seems like a big expense. But it’s less than 10% of what a church or organization would pay for Auxano’s consulting services. And churches and organizations who use Auxano's services certainly do not regret the effort, the experience, or the expense. I don’t think your team will, either.
2) The clarity and operating system that God gives organizations who go through this process will be used by God to guide them at least into the next decade. When you think of it that way, it’s just a $200 a year investment.
3) You team will be getting 24 hours of expert training with world-class process, coaching, and materials without having to pay for the flights, hotels, and meals of 4 people to travel to a conference site and spend 3-4 days in seminars. Flying 4 people to an offsite conference and paying for conference fees, hotels, and meals for 4 days could cost between $750-1000 a person.
4) Light bulbs for a variety of areas of influence will, no doubt, go on for each team member who participates. Each person will begin to think how the vision frame can be used in their family and business settings. The impact of the Auxano vision frame process in peripheral areas of the lives of participants cannot be measured.
When you think of all these factors, the co::LAB at $2,000 is really a smart, strategic investment.
