Blessed be the LORD your God, who has delighted in you and set you on the throne of Israel! Because the LORD loved Israel forever, he has made you king, that you may execute justice and righteousness. I Kings 10:9

These are the words of the Queen of Sheba to Solomon. She saw the hand of God on his life.

O that people might see the hand of God on my life. I don't think that people see that on my life. Not like they used to see it.

I think that too often I want this for me, for my own praise. How sinful this is.

May I want wisdom and leadership ability solely so people will bless the Lord, so that they will see it is He who has delighted in me, so that they will see that He has granted me wisdom because He loves CVC.

May I be a leader known for executing a justice and righteousness that comes from the Lord.

Value

Check your motives as a leader. Want God to be blessed. Want God to be seen as the Source of your wisdom - that He delighted in you to give you wisdom because He loves His church.

Express

You alone are the Source of wisdom, Lord. I have had poor motives in my leadership. Too often, I want the praise and applause of people. Cleanse me from any vestige of this sin. Thank You for the blood of Jesus that cleanses and empowers us to be free from such sins. Leadership and wisdom comes only from You. May I want to lead not so I will be applauded, but so You will be blessed. Please be delighted in me to give me wisdom to lead Your people with justice and righteousness. I pray this in Jesus' name, Amen.
